Three steps. No surprises.
Buy the bag, fill it when you're ready, order pickup online. Here's exactly what happens at each step — including where to put the bag so the truck can reach it.
Buy the bag. $24.90.
Choose Medium or Large at checkout — both hold up to 3,000 lbs, both cost $24.90, and the difference is volume: Medium is 1.1 cubic yards and the only bag for dirt, gravel, concrete, and bricks; Large is 2.6 cubic yards for everything bulky. Not sure? Anything you'd shovel means Medium; anything you'd carry means Large.
Delivery: free, in 1–3 business days — usually next day in the Bay Area, by our own delivery cars or UPS. It arrives folded flat, so it fits at your door and you don't need to be home; we text you a photo when it's delivered. Keep it in a closet until the project starts — there's no expiry.
Fill it. Take your time.
No rental period, no deadline. A weekend or three months, same price.
Filling rules — the ones that matter
- Level with the rim. Not above it. Overfilled bags can't be lifted.
- Under 3,000 lbs. Bulky loads never get close; dense loads (dirt, concrete, wet soil, shingles) can. If a Medium is hard to fill to the top, it's probably at the limit.
- One material per bag if you can. Mixed loads are charged at the mixed-debris rate; separated wood or yard waste gets a lower rate — and more of it gets recycled.
- Keep the handles clear. The crane hooks onto them.
- No hazardous waste. That includes all treated wood — California classifies it as hazardous, and it's a $100 fine if found in a bag.
- Don't bag it. Loose in the Yellowsack, not in plastic bags inside it — bagged loads can't be sorted.
Order pickup online. It's gone.
Order pickup at yellowsack.com or from the link in your emails. Choose your waste type, see the flat price, pick a date in the calendar — next-day pickup is usually available. We collect between 5 AM and 8 PM on your date; there's no time slot to choose and no need to be home. You get a text when the truck is close, with live tracking, and another when it's done.
Where to put the bag
- Anywhere on your private property or job site — it's your bag
- Within 20 ft of a public road, so the crane can reach it
- Nothing overhead — no low power lines, branches, or structures
- On a road at least 14 ft wide, and not on block paving — the truck can't drive onto it
- Handles reachable from the truck side
- On a public sidewalk? Order pickup for the earliest date available and keep the bag out of the way

After pickup
Every bag goes to a certified sorting facility, not straight to landfill. 81% of everything we've hauled — 73 million of 90 million pounds — has been recovered (as of August 2025). And you'll see your own numbers: your account shows the weight we collected, how much was recovered, and your recycling rate, per project.
